Strangest items I find are the staves/wands like this
Req 11 air magic
halves skill recharge of death magic

they make no sence what so ever.

A req. Divine Favor staff that boosts Soul Reaping skills and Swordsmanship casting time would be wierd.

The jitte isn't that weird. That's what a jitte does. It's normally blunt because it's used for disarming an opponent. Not that you can do that in the game... imagine if you could unequip someones sword in pvp, lol! And it's not bad to have blunt damage in some situations, sometimes you run across something that is more vulnerable to one physical type over another. You know what I mean, blunt vs. peircing vs. slashing.

Lol Disarming in PvP, I just imagine that. You disarm a warrior, his weapon drop, you steal it and go away...... nah! For the Jitte, its just weird to see a sword to do blunt dmg instead slashing. Oh well! Already got a bonus VS undead lol.

Lol, yeah that would suck if you could get your weapon stolen. I was thinking more along the lines of the weapon just ending up back in their inventory, or just momentarily unable to be used. Either way it's a funny thought... new tactics... and swearing... abounds.

IMO the stangeness comes in when I see someone using something that's really ugly, and the only reason they use it is its rare. I prefer to make sure the weapon compliments my armor or theme. But that's just me as people are still running around with super expensive, yet increadible ugly items, lol. Oh well, your money.

You do 10% more damage while in a stance and receive 2 less damage from being hit while in a stance, just like a major absorption rune would do (but conditional.) You do know that rangers have ten stances yes? Warrior secondary 17, and mesmer secondary 14. Now not all of them are totally viable, but practiced stance you can get over 30 sec for 5 energy and a quick recharge, and serpents quickness around 30 sec for 5 energy also. Then the mesmer stances of physical resistance and elemental resistance are easy to get to last over a minute with a minimal cost in attribute points. So unless something else is odd about the bow, I don't see why you guys think it's weird.
Look at the possible mods a weapon can have. Damage reduction is NOT POSSIBLE for a bow. Triple class items are totally possible. It is weird because it should not exist, everything else here is normal really.

As a mod, damage reduction is not possible for any weapon, but any weapon can have an assortment of innate properties. And since this is most likely a quest reward as has been pointed out, the item isn't that weird. But I guess it's in the eye of the beholder, the whole thread is, since there is no formal definition on what is a weird item. Thanks for clearing up what you guys found weird about the item though, because I just wasn't seeing the weird part.

I thought quest item too, but he swears it is a hydra drop. That would make it really weird and easily the bright spot of this thread.

I found this soloing the UW few months back. Now, as far as I know and all the pro sellers/buyers that I have asked, this seems to be the only max Tribal Blade they have ever seen with an inherent damage mod.

Enjoy
